Michelle is a teacher at heart and her first love is music. She holds a BC Teacher’s Certificate and taught high school choir and band for years. She has a BA in Music (vocal major) and minor in Education from Trinity Western University, and a BEd from UBC. She can teach piano, voice, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. Musical experiences from around the world have enriched her range of style, and she creatively draws students into the journey of being the best musician and singer they can be.

Music has always been a huge part of her life, some highlights include: The Vancouver Bach choir ,Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Directing the African Children's Choir while traveling the USA, teaching high school choir and band in White Rock, travelling with several performance groups, playing trombone in a jazz band, singing and soloing with various Gospel choirs in Canada and the US, recording projects, singing & dancing with Africans in Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya and Uganda and leading worship teams. She enjoys writing songs and collaborating with others.

Singers are musicians who carry their unseen instrument with them. She believes singing is about your whole being - body, mind, spirit. A great singer has all 3 working together in flawless harmony. Michelle will clearly break down the steps to make this your vocal reality.
Michelle loves teaching beginning to intermediate piano/keyboard to all ages (Including adults!) If your goal is to sing and accompany yourself on piano, she is the teacher for you! She believes that learning the language of music is actually easier and much more fun than many people expect!

Devon was born and raised in the B.C. lower mainland and grew up surrounded by music. His parents bought a piano in hopes that him, or one of his siblings, would be drawn to it. Devon immediately took an interest and began discovering the world of music in a whole new way.

Devon spent a large part of his childhood in choir with his older brother, competing in various places like Alaska, Oregon, and Great Britain. Through choir, he fell in love with harmonies and started hearing the world a different way.

He then wanted to uncover the secrets of music theory. Despite not having access to piano lessons, he had observed enough from his choir instructors to navigate the first few steps. The piano helped him learn theory and to compose original music.

By the time he got to high school, he had picked up the guitar as well. In addition to his school offering a guitar program, he was able to translate what he knew from piano to the guitar. Later in high school, he was thrilled to join a Rock Band program. The teacher was a huge influence on him wanting to start a band. Upon graduating, he started a band that played several local shows, recorded demos, and had a memorable time writing music and performing on stage.

Devon continues to write and record music on his own and with a band. He's  learned his way around the Ukulele. He is intrigued by how different each instrument sounds and makes one feel.

Now, he wants to share his knowledge and experience to up-and-coming musicians who have that same spark within them. He wants to help students learn the language of music and find their unique sound!
